When you use yaanishuu, we collect the following information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash) when you create an account.
• Event data — event details, dates, locations, and guest lists that you create within the app.
• RSVP data — names and responses from guests who RSVP to your events, including guests who respond without creating an account.
• Chat messages — messages sent within event chat rooms.
• Photos — images you or your guests upload to event photo vaults.
• Usage data — basic information about how you interact with the app, such as features used and pages visited, to help us improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and operate the yaanishuu service.
• Allow you to create events, send invitations, and manage RSVPs.
• Enable event chat and shared photo vaults.
• Display prayer times and Hijri calendar dates relevant to your events.
• Send you notifications about your events (if you have opted in).
• Improve the app through analysis of aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users — your name and RSVP status are visible to the event host and other guests of events you join.
• Service providers — we use trusted third-party services to host our infrastructure. These providers process data solely to deliver our service and are bound by strict data protection agreements.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Photo Vault & User Content

Photos uploaded to an event's photo vault are accessible to all guests of that event. Photo vaults are open for 72 hours after an event. After that window, photos remain stored but upload access closes.

You retain ownership of any content you upload. By uploading content, you grant yaanishuu a limited licence to store and display that content to the event's guests.

Do not upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or violates the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

5. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at support@yaanishuu.com. Upon deletion, your account information will be permanently removed. Event data and messages may be retained in anonymised form where other guests are involved.

6. Children's Privacy

yaanishuu is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately at support@yaanishuu.com.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion at any time (see section 5 above). Anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of yaanishuu after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via the app or by email.
